A Case for Masha Slamovich to be Mania Weekend MVP
Masha Slamovich wrestled 10 matches in three days against a variety of opponents from different promotions, could she be the 2025 WrestleMania weekend MVP?
Every year the WWE takes over one city for a weekend to present its premiere yearly event, WrestleMania. The marquee event takes place at a stadium for two nights along with other WWE programing such as Raw, Smackdown, and NXT running at an arena nearby throughout the week. While the bright lights shine on WWE, there are dozens of independent wrestling events that take place in venues of all shapes and sizes throughout the week. Independent wrestlers often wrestle many matches over the span of a few days for various promotions in different locations. “Speedball” Mike Bailey was known for be part of as many as 10+ matches within just a few days, and was often known as the MVP of the weekends independent scene. With Bailey now being part of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and not taking part of the independent scene in Las Vegas for WrestleMania weekend, a spot opened for a new MVP to step up. One wrestler who could certainty be in the running for WrestleMania weekend MVP of 2025, is Masha Slamovich.

An Eventful Weekend in Sin City
Masha wrestled a total of 10 matches from Thursday April 17th until Saturday April 19th, an average of just over three matches per day. Her run started on Thursday for West Coast Pro Wrestling where she teamed with Vinnie Massaro to defeat Aaron Solo and Bret the Threat. Later that day she defeated MAO at Pandemonium Pro Wrestling before heading to TNA Wrestling that same night. Masha is the current reigning Knockouts Women’s Champion and she teamed with current TNA World Champion Joe Hendry to defeat Frankie Kazarian and Tessa Blanchard. She ended the day at the same place she started at the MEET in Las Vegas where she defeated Ai Houzan.
Her second day started with taking on STARDOM wrestler Suzu Suzuki at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9 - a marquee event as part of Game Changer Wrestling (GCW)’s annual Collective event in which she was victorious. Her night continued with successfully retaining the TNA Knockouts Championship. at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (TJPW) over Miu Watanbe as part of the GCW Collective. The night continued with a return to the MEET at Las Vegas for DEADLOCK Pro Wrestling (DPW) where she teamed with Queen Aminata in a winning effort against Magenta (Maria and Riko Kawahata). She ended the night with a return to the Collective teaming with Alexis Littlefoot with a win over Haley J and Vix Crow.
Her final day of Mania weekend with an appearance at the GCW Cluster*uck to as part the Collective and a successful tag team victory with Konosuke Takeshita against Miyu Yamashita and Shinya Aoki.
The MVP Performance
In addition to defending her Knockouts Championship she also teamed with TNA World Champion in a marquee match as part of TNA Unbreakable. In addition she teamed with Takeshita who is a former DDT Iron Man Champion, AEW International Champion, and current NEVER Openweight Champion.
She also found herself standing across the ring from champions such as MAO who is a former DDT Universal and Iron Man Champion. Suzu Suzuki is also a former Goddesses Of Stardom Champion and Miu Watanabe is a former Princess Of Princess Champion in TJPW.
Masha worked plenty of matches throughout the three days. What is equally as impressive as her number of matches, is who she had them with. As listed above she competed against current and former champions from notable promotions such as STARDOM, TJPW, DDT, AEW, and NJPW. These are some of the biggest promotions in Japan and the United States. She also defended her TNA Championship in a cross promotional battle with TJPW as part of the GCW Collective and appeared with TNA Champion Joe Hendy against former Knockouts and IMPACT World Champion, Tessa Blanchard.
Between her number of matches and the caliber of wrestlers she teamed with and squared off against, Masha Slamovich made quite the case to be named the MVP of WrestleMania weekend 2025.
